Intersektionalitet – begrebsrejse, kritik og nytænkning

Resumé

Gennem de sidste 30 år har intersektionalitetsperspektivet været på en vidtforgrenet 
rejse på tværs af discipliner og nationale kontekster. Rejsen diskuteres 
i denne artikel dels på baggrund af forfatternes egen forståelse af intersektionalitet, 
dels i et perspektiv, som er informeret af den internationale 
litteratur om rejsende begreber og teorier. Denne litteratur har pointeret. at 
begrebsrejser ofte medfører produktiv dynamik og nytænkning, men også 
at begrebsrejser sjældent er konfliktfrie. Således har også den rejse som intersektionalitetsperspektivet 
har foretaget i høj grad afstedkommet debat og 
konflikt. Artiklen analyserer den seneste debat og diskuterer aktuelle konfliktpunkter. 
Dette gælder spørgsmål som, hvorvidt begrebet specifikt angår 
minoritetskvinder, hvorvidt der i den europæiske reception er sket en uhensigtsmæssig 
fortrængning af racebegrebet, hvorvidt mænd kan være intersektionelle 
subjekter, samt hvorvidt begrebet primært omhandler strukturer eller 
identiteter. Særligt sidstnævnte kan opfattes som en uhensigtsmæssig opposition, 
der strider imod intersektionalitetsbegrebets princip om at analysere, 
hvordan sociale differentieringsformer gensidigt former hinanden på tværs 
af mikro-, meso- og makroniveauer. Denne pointe illustrerer vi ved at vise, 
hvordan nutidige diskurser om køn, etnicitet og ligestilling på et strukturelt 
niveau er med til at rammesætte de subjektpositioner, som er til rådighed for 
etniske minoritetsmænd og dermed forme deres erfaringer på et identitets- og 
hverdagslivsniveau.
