Abstract

At first this paper explains the lexicologically orientated conception of the term worked out by the Slovak linguist Ján Horecký. Afterwards it tries to use this conception on the comparison of German and Slovak terminology in the field of metallurgy. According to Horecký the term is a four-dimensional object which consists of the following components: conceptual, semantic, onomasiological and onomatological components. Each of these components has its own content and form. Because of objectivity the comparison considers only three of the term components according to Horecký in the following order: onomatological, onomasiological and semantic components. The importance of the interlingual analysis in these components is the very clear demonstration of identities and differences between the compared languages.
