Cressida J. Heyes, University of Alberta

Cressida J. Heyes is Professor of Philosophy and Canada Research Chair in Philosophy of Gender and Sexuality at the University of Alberta, Canada. She is the author of Line Drawings: Defining Women through Feminist Practice (Cornell University Press, 2000) and Self-Transformations: Foucault, Ethics, and Normalized Bodies (Oxford University Press, 2007), and the editor of The Grammar of Politics: Wittgenstein and Political Philosophy (Cornell, 2003) and Philosophy and Gender: Critical Concepts—a four volume set of classic and contemporary essays, forthcoming from Routledge in early 2012.

Michael McGarry, University of Toronto

Michael McGarry has an MA in Philosophy from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and is a doctoral candidate in the History and Philosophy of Education program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. His current research involves using governmentality to trace the liberogenic effects of reading instruction in context of the early history of Anglo-Canadian public schooling.
