Cressida J. Heyes, University of Alberta

Cressida J. Heyes is Canada Research Chair in Philosophy of Gender and Sexuality and Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Alberta. She is the author of Line Drawings: Defining Women through Feminist Practice (Cornell University Press, 2000) and Self-Transformations: Foucault, Ethics, and Normalized Bodies (Oxford University Press, 2007); the editor of The Grammar of Politics: Wittgenstein and Political Philosophy (Cornell, 2003), and Critical Concepts: Philosophy and Gender (Routledge, 2011); and the co-editor with Meredith Jones of Cosmetic Surgery: A Feminist Primer (Ashgate, 2009). She is currently working on a series of essays about time, work, and agency, as well as a book on sleep.
