Author Biographies

Maria Holmgren Troy, Karlstad University

Maria Holmgren Troy is Professor of English at Karlstad University, Sweden. Her current research interests are nineteenth-century American fairy tales, contemporary gothic, and the writings of Octavia Butler. The co-authored Making Home: Orphanhood, Kinship and Cultural Memory in Contemporary American Novels (Manchester University Press, 2014) is one of her most recent publications.

Magnus Ullén, Karlstad University

Magnus Ullén is Professor of English at Karlstad University, Sweden. His most recent publications are “‘A Tangled Web of Mind-Fuck’: Andrea Dworkin and the Truth of Pornography”, which appears in the Fall issue of Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature, and “The Situation of the Text: Erotic and Pornographic in Barthes’s Camera Lucida”, in the July issue of Critical
Quarterly.
