In early 2020, the Copenhagen Journal of Asian Studies (CJAS) returned to the University of Copenhagen, where it first started more than thirty years ago. We celebrated the return of the CJAS on the 10th of March 2020 with a re-launch event hosted by the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies (CCRS), University of Copenhagen, and supported by the Copenhagen Business School and the Sussex Asia Centre at the University of Sussex, UK.

The return of the CJAS to the University of Copenhagen has entailed changes in the academic profile of the journal. Now the interdisciplinary focus is on culture and society in contemporary Asia.
