CJAS introduces continuous publication and a new visual identity
The Copenhagen Journal of Asian Studies (CJAS) is pleased to announce two important developments in 2026: the adoption of a continuous publication model and the launch of an updated visual identity.
Under the new publication model, articles are published individually as soon as they have completed peer review, copyediting, and typesetting. Rather than waiting for an entire issue to be assembled, we make articles available online as soon as they are ready for publication. Each article is published with its final bibliographic details and can be cited immediately, without the need for a later update from an “online first” version to its final issue citation.
This change enables faster dissemination of research, giving authors earlier visibility within the scholarly community and more timely opportunities for citation and academic engagement. It also allows new findings to reach academic and professional audiences sooner, contributing to ongoing scholarly and policy discussions.
Alongside this change, CJAS has introduced a new article layout, bringing the journal’s logo and key publication information together on the first page of each article. The updated design replaces the previous layout, which was primarily intended for print publication, with a format better suited to online reading and dissemination.
